Introduction to Logic

In this course Shaykh Fouad will introduce students to the foundations of logic.

Logic has long served as an important instrument in the Islamic scholarly tradition, helping students understand how arguments are formed, how conclusions are reached, and how to distinguish between what is sound and what is flawed. This class will give students a beginning framework for thinking with greater precision, especially as they continue into deeper studies of theology, law, and the intellectual sciences.

It is important that students take their time with this material, review it carefully, and become comfortable with the basic terms and concepts. Logic is not studied merely as an abstract subject, but as a means of protecting the mind from confusion and approaching knowledge with clarity, humility, and care.
