Rights of Brotherhood

In this course, Shaykh Jamaal Diwan will guide students through Imam al-Ghazali’s discussion of The Rights of Brotherhood from the Ihyāʾ ʿUlūm al-Dīn.

Imam al-Ghazali presents brotherhood as a sacred bond and spiritual trust, one that carries rights over our wealth, our service, our speech, and our hearts. Through this text, students will explore how companionship is refined through sincerity, loyalty, forgiveness, duʿāʾ, protecting one another’s dignity, and easing one another’s burdens.

This course invites students to think more deeply about what it means to love, serve, and accompany others for the sake of Allah.
